Well first off let me give you a break down of the NAWF mixtape history. As everyone knows i hale from the NAWF side of Houston and have always been an ambassador for the NAWF spreading it all around the country. Back when i was in the midst of my industry career and traveling the country doing concerts i came up with an idea. At the time Chingo bling had just signed his new act STUNTA who i helped develope into more of a well rounded artist, he had raw talenet but needed more structure in the world of song making. things were moving along good and i had the idea to put out a mixtape called NAWF. to do this i fugred it would be good exposure for stunta to do the project with NAWF veteran LUCKY. Everyone was on board and we knocked it out quick with support from alot of people and artist, the mixtape went on to be a big success. After that came the time to do NAWF2 before i started thinking of how to structure that one the situation involving COAST came along, He was going through a contract change with dopehouse and was basically becoming a free agent, i persistentlly got into chingos ear about bringing him on board and that only good things could come of it, Coast started coming aorund doing more and more work with us and going on the road and it was a good business relationship between everyone. so along came NAWF2 which would consist of COAST-LUCKY-STUNTA. From the beggining i knew this project would be a monster, we had plenty of long nights of recording where every song seemed to come out perfect and everything flowed together so good, to no surprise when the project was released it was recieved with MASS appreciation along with great sales numbers, it took off spreading everywhere and never really slowed down, it was even recentlly named in the top5 latin mixtape/albums of the decade by the houston press. There is so much more detail and stories to the whole thing but this was just a light version of the history of the nawf series.
NOW, As for NAWF3…
Yall have been asking and wanting this project for a LONGGGG time. dont be mistaken i want to do it but fact is alot has changed since then, everyone has spread out and in some ways gone their own directions. thats not saying there is bad blood between anyone at all its just not as tight knit as it once was. but infact thats not even the reason why the project hasnt been completed yet, see with NAWF2 not only do we feel like we delivered a classic but that fans and critics do as well. So with that being said i suppose the REAL reason NAWF3 has not been released is due to the fact that we dont want to deliver anything that would be LESS of an impact than NAWF2. its an inner battle of weather to end the series on top or try to top it and risk it being lack-luster..
WHAT to DO, WHAT to DO?!?!?!
Alot of my friends and folks have been asking me “whats up with the store”, very understandable question.
The official status of the store is that im STILL looking for that perfect location, i may be being a little too picky but i just want it to be right. after i find the location i want the rest will move very quickly, im only looking at about a week of decorating and building and whatever amount of time is needed to recieve products from companys. so basically we may be looking at a late january or february opening. thanks, and more updates to come
